About Us
Alphonsa High School is a catholic co-education English Medium School started in June 1987 under the umbrella of “SANTHOME CHARITABLE TRUST OF KALYAN” of the diocese of Kalyan in collaboration with the sisters of Franciscan Clarist Congregation. LOVE, SERVICE and TRUTH being the motto she gives education to around 3600 students starting from Nursery to 10th. It is an unaided educational institution where English medium education is made possible and affordable for common man without compromising the quality. Here not a single child is left unattended; nobody feels like left out; and above all it is a big family where students from all walks of life, irrespective of cast and creed,language and culture,wealth and health, live together,grow together and share their joys and sorrows. Every one encourages and supports each other in their growth both in quality and quantity. As we aim at the wholesome growth of our students, we give equal important to extra curricular activities like arts and sports as well as the academic excellence.
Diocese of Kalyan was enacted in 1988 By PAPAL BULL for the people of Syro Malabar Church in Maharashtra. It comprises 14 districts of the state within the ecclesiastical territories of Mumbai, Pune and Nashik. The school is recognized by the Government of Maharashtra and prepares pupils for the Primary & Secondary School Certificate Examination (Std. X).
The education of Alphonsa High School is inspired by a vision of man drawn from the life and teachings of Jesus Christ and based on the principles of character formation elaborated by Ignatius of Loyola. The aim of the school is also to form “NEW PERSONS” who foster universal and eternal values by a careful cultivation of mind,heart and body thus making them fully alive as to bring about a just society. Alphonsa High School accepts boys and girls from every caste and community and strives to educate them in the high ideals of humanism and unselfish service of their fellowmen. Hence the purpose of this school is not only imparting instruction but also educate the whole child.
It holds fast to the principle that a human being is a positive asset and a precious national resource which needs to be cherished, nurtured, and developed with tenderness and care coupled with dynamism. It strives to shape persons who are Intellectually integrated and imbibed with sense of the Divine, committed to the cause of justice and peace and opened to further growth.
